Lashihai Watershed Green Tourism Program

The Lashihai Watershed Green Tourism Program is a collaborative effort to create and manage sustainable, educational, community-based tourism opportunities in the Lashihai Watershed. The Program’s efforts include conservation and community development funding, visitor impact monitoring, and ecotourism business and guide training.

The Program is supported by the Lashihai Nature Reserve, Lijiang County Tourism Bureau, The Nature Conservancy, the Lijiang Culture and Gender Center, and local township governments.
 

Yunnan Great Rivers Project

The Yunnan Great Rivers Project is a far-reaching collaboration between the Chinese government and The Nature Conservancy to create an integrated conservation and economic-development project in the northwest corner of Yunnan Province.  By supporting ecotourism development, the Yunnan Great Rivers Project hopes to encourage the conservation of the region’s biodiversity and cultural heritage and provide a sustainable alternative income source for these isolated and fascinating local communities.


The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy is an international conservation organization whose mission is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., The Nature Conservancy has representative offices in Lijiang, Deqin and Kunming.    Lijiang Xintuo Ecotourism Company

The Lijiang Xintuo Ecotourism Company:

  • Is owned and operated by local guide employees and local community members
  • Contributes 10% of its profit to a conservation and community development fund 
  • Provides dividends to shareholders based on the company's annual financial performance
  • Adheres to all tourist and tour operator codes of conduct for the Lashihai-Wenhai Watershed

   Nguluko Guest House

Nguluko  means "at the foot of snow mountain", it is a Naxi name of a lovely village in Lijiang. its chinese name Yuhu means Jade Lake which is a name of a beautiful lake in that village. Dr Joseph Rock who was a botanist from United States lived in the lovely village for 22 years(1922~1949), because of the unique natural beauty and Naxi traditional lifestyle of the village. Nguluko guest House is  run by a hospitable local family in Nguluko Village. There you can enjoy both of natural beautiful and Naxi traditional culture.
